Cyrill Pflugi has been Head Chef at Hof Maran since November 2012.
Cyrill Pflugi was born and raised in Nunningen in Schwarzbubenland. He spent his primary school years in the Bahamas. After graduating from high school, Cyrill Pflugi began studying English and History. However, he quickly realised that the world of cooking fascinated him far more and so he completed his cookery training at the Hotel Walther in Pontresina. This was followed by further positions in Scotland and as sous-chef at the Schweizerhof Lenzerheide. He then worked as head chef at the Hotel Giessbach and Hotel Vereina in Klosters.
His heart has always been set on regional products and he brought his love of regionality to the Hof Maran.
Together with the Landfrauen (rural women) in Schanfigg, he developed the «Schanfigg kocht» event, which will take place for the 10th time next February. The «Chef’s Night» is also a tradition at Hof Maran. At this event, he cooks together with befriended chefs. This event has now been taking place for more than 10 years.
Cyrill Pflugi's professional career has taken him to Scotland, where he learnt the art of salmon smoking. For our guests, the home-smoked «Scottish Label Rouge Salmon» is one of the highlights on the menu.
In his free time, Cyrill Pflugi enjoys skiing or hiking and spending time with his family.
